You hear reports of wars and crises, not to mention covid-19. Why is all this happening? You know can't
be God's plan, all this suffering and cruelty. So why does it happen? Jesus says in Matthew 24:6, 'You will
hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end
is still to come. Bad things will happen, but the end has not come yet. Essentially, I believe these things
happen simply because we humans are sinful. At the beginning of time, we brought sin into the world. We
have had to pay for that since. Wars, sickness, loss, sadness, all of it come from sin. We did not create sin.
The devil did. The devil successfully tricked Eve to into eating that apple. Eve then offered the apple to
her husband. Both ate from the tree God had forbidden them to eat of. Because sin could not be in
God's presence, He banished Adam and Eve from the garden. Sin has existed ever since. Cain killed his
brother Abel, Abraham lied, Rebekah and Jacob deceived Jacob's father Isaac, because of sin. And we
could not be with God because of sin. But amazingly, incredibly, God still loved us, after everything.
And he sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us, because though He was perfect, He took our sins upon
Himself, and He died and took them away. All we have to do to live eternally is believe in Jesus Christ,
that He died and took away our sins. Isn't that good news!
